Michaelle Solages Win

dsc0132_001 ELMONT NY - Democrats selected Michaelle Solages to be their representative in the November general elections for the newly formed 22nd Assembly District.  Solages’ win was decisive and may mark a turning point in local democratic politics.

In a letter to Elmont Online Michael G. Hardial wrote in support of Michaelle Solages.  “We have worked hard in this community, the struggle has been enormous. Often it has been met with significant resistance from those who try to isolate, divide, and demoralize us. There are those among us whose sole purpose is to polarize us while attempting to both set and control the agenda of this community; thus undermining the continuous efforts of leaders like yourselves. We cannot sit idle and allow such atrocity to manifest itself. “

Milagros Vicente, like Mr. Hardial called for Democratic unity at the Elmont CCC debates on August 30.  “This election is not about me” said Vicente.  “After this primary regardless of who wins I will support the Democrat…”, and last night Milagros, while still finalizing plans for tonight’s unity rally at the 5th Precinct (7pm) took time out to call the Solages campaign and congratulated Michaelle.

"Local Democrats must rally around democratic ideals this time" said an informed observer.

the measure of a man can often be determined by how quickly he raises after falling. His resiliency and his fortitde helps to pave the way to future success. In this election I have learned that there are numerous energetic well qualified leaders who are ready willing and able to accept the enornous challenges and obstacles which they will encounter in order to serve their community. These individulas should be recognized for their unselfish thoughts and commended for their courage. Some of these leaders are: Patrick Nicolosi; MiMi-Pierre Johnson; Milagros Vicente; Patrick Emeagwali; Cristobol Steward; Monique Hardial-Swaby; and of course Aubrey Phillips. All Heroes of Elmont.

Now that the democratic primary has concluded and most of the results are in, the time has come for all these leaders to exercise restraint; become resilient , and not lose focus of the true goal which is to create a sustainable political force by uniting our community politically through whatever peaceful means necessary to accomplish political representation for our people, our schools, and our community. Only through political means can we rise to the level of fairness that will bring adequate levels of funding for our schools, and stop disenfranchising of the minorities within our community.

I call on all community leaders to resolve their differences and focus their positive energy into getting Michaelle Solages elected as the DEMOCRATIC ASSEMBLY WOMAN for the 22 assembly district representing the good people of ELMONT, FRANKLIN SQUARE, VALLEY STREAM, FLORAL PARK, BELLEROSE and the GREAT STATE OF NEW YORK.

Respectfully

Michael G. Hardial

The Republicans have shown their lack of leadership. We can't afford to keep them in power , they haven't kept their promiss. Nothing at Belmont, nothing at the hub, nothing on the ocean. We keep losing to the city and our taxes keep climbing. Wright is very wrong for us we need a young heart and my vote goes to Michaelle Solages for the 22 assembly. We don't need a soccer stadium at Belmont. What a dumb idea!

Today, we are talking to people about sustainable economic development, because we think it's important to show support for key issues that affect our community - like places in the Elmont for young professionals to live, shop and be entertained; like keeping families closer together and rebuilding the economic and social pillars of the community.

This crossed my desk today, “… and Aubrey, what’s the status of the Joe Smith case?  I hope it’s not forgotten?!”

Well EoL Reader, Smith was formally arrasted and charged with the crime on March 29 and I suspect from your emphasis on “?!” you are asking a deeper question.  Will Joe Smith like Vinny Prisco get away with the ongoing intimidation of Nassau County (Elmont) residents on behalf of the Long Island Republican establishment?  Will Republican dollar$ subvert the public good - again?  The answer remains to be seen.
